Long weekend for Fasching

The 17th of February was a long, busy day! We started off by going to the weekly Saturday Stuttgarter market. We (ok, Vivian and I...) enjoy walking and browsing over the fresh local produce, fragrant flowers and and yummie foods.

The weather was still so nice after we had our fill that we decided to go on a bit further out. We intended to go to Schloss Stettenfels, an old fortress near Heilbronn. When we got there it turned out to be closed, but it was pleasant to walk around it and enjoy the view from the hilltop.




Since we got done there a bit quicker than we were intending, we decided to go take a look at Heilbronn. But when we were trying to get to the old town (Altstadt,) all the roads were blocked!, when we realized that they were blocked off for the Fasching parade. So we parked and watched the festivities. It was quite a hoot!

Stanley visits Schloss Lichtenstein

So many castles, so little time! But when the big man, Mr. Flat Stanely came, he got some legs of his own! He came all the way from Texas and is a good friend of our little niece, Vista.

Poland Shopping Trip

At the very beginning of February, Vivian went with some ladies from the homeschooling group to go pottery shopping in Poland. They had a great time of fellowship, and just getting away from the kids.
