The Stuttgart Area HomeSchoolers (SAHS) hosted a "Trip Around the World," where all of the homschool students were to select a nation or state of the USA and develop a project board, presentation and share some food and culture from that location. It took a good deal of work for the boys to put together their projects, but they loved the outcome. Daniel was quite animated with his presentation. But it was great experience for all the kids in learning their subjects, and even doing a bit of public speaking.
With the presentation, Vivian and the kids prepared Kailua Pig, rice and Haupia (a coconut milk pudding) Everything tased so good it made me want to go back to the Islands!
After the event, I created a
SAHS Flickr photo group to collect photos from anyone in the group. All of
ours are in a set, and a few of the photos above are actually from our
good friends Isakson's set.
